It is a matter of great pride and satisfaction to note the remarkable progress made by the West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Limited (WBGEDCL) in promoting renewable and sustainable energy across the State.
The Government of West Bengal, under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, has been deeply committed to ensuring a cleaner, greener, and more energy-secure future. In alignment with this vision, WBGEDCL has been working diligently under the Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Sources (NRES) Department to harness the immense potential of solar, wind, biomass, and small hydro power in the State.
Our primary objective is to make green energy accessible and affordable to all sections of society while minimizing the adverse impact of conventional energy sources on the environment. Through the successful implementation of solar power projects, solar street lighting systems, rooftop solar initiatives, and other renewable programs, WBGEDCL has become a cornerstone in West Bengal’s sustainable development journey.
I take this opportunity to commend the dedication and efforts of the Managing Director, Shri Barun Kumar Ray, IAS, and the entire team of WBGEDCL, whose relentless commitment continues to drive innovation and excellence in the field of renewable energy.
As we move forward, our focus will remain on expanding clean energy infrastructure, encouraging public participation, and promoting a culture of sustainability that will benefit both present and future generations.
Let us together strive to transform West Bengal into a model state for green and renewable energy in India.
